Great job with this post, you hit on every aspect of accounting and what is involved. As your readers can tall with this blog, accounting is a full time job to keep updated and organized. Outsourcing your accounting is a great idea if you can find a company that you truly trust with this kind of information. A private CPA that you have developed a relationship over the years with is probably the best way to go. I have used QuickBooks Pro before and it takes awhile to get used to all the intricacies. Consult with a CPA and see what they suggest, but I agree it is too much work for the business owner to take on and stay updated on it.

  4. CharlesCharles10-16-2011

Your article makes a lot of sense especially for the busy business owner, but I can see how it would be difficult to outsource your accounting part of the business. That is a lot of private information about your company that you just don’t want out there in cyber space or in the hands of a stranger. If you are thinking of using an on-line accounting service are there any out there that guarantee anonymity or are the bonded by the government in case something happens. I guess I would want to know the same of a CPA service if I was going to outsource there as well. Great ideas though, keep up the good work.

    • SequoiaSequoia10-27-2011

Always a good job right here. Keep rolnlig on through.

  5. YvonneYvonne10-17-2011

I think you are right when you say that outsourcing your accounting is an investment because a small business owner doesn’t have time to stay on top of the accounting issues that come up every day in business so when they need something for taxes or payroll etc. it takes them extra time to get it all together, which in turn costs them money. If they outsource this then when they need something like that they can simply make a phone call or get on the internet and request it from the accounting firm that is keeping track of their business and have it in a matter of minutes. Just this alone could in fact pay for that accounting service in the savings of time and money. Great idea I think.

  6. SoniaSonia10-17-2011

I currently own a small business, and could not agree more about the benefits of having an accounting firm handling the books. I just wish I had known that when we started up. I assume your customers still need to enter expenditures etc. into quick books. The link to your home page was helpful. It answered a lot of questions I had about the extent of your services. We are currently in the process of closing business due to economic hard times, but if we ever start up again, you can bet we’ll be looking closely at services like the one you provide.

  7. BeckyBecky10-17-2011

It is very important to outsource elements of your business that 1. are vital to success 2. that you aren’t good at or want to do.
    Accounting is such a task!
It’s best to find an accountant that can take care of this vital aspect of your business which will free you up to do what you do best….your business.
The most successful people outsource. Be successful and hire a professional accountant.

    • BossBoss10-27-2011

I thought I’d have to read a book for a dsicovery like this!

  8. RaymondRaymond10-19-2011

Accounting is such a hassle, it is time consuming and tedious. As Becky wrote in her comment it is best to free yourself up to do your business or there will be no need for accounting services. Hire a professional that knows all the ends and out along with all the loop holes the government adds to your taxes. You got into business to make money and be successful at it, so help yourself do that by outsourcing the critical stuff that you don’t have time for.

    • JannikaJannika10-27-2011

Your story was really informaitve, thanks!

  9. AvaAva10-19-2011

I appreciate your posting the video tutorial on how to read a profit / loss income statement. If there is one thing that does not exactly look easy on the eyes (it can even look daunting), that would be an income statement. Most people will glance at such a document and file it away, hoping the day never comes when they have to actually read it. But I suppose that is a typical reaction when we are unfamiliar with something or when we do not understand someone or some concept. That is also what a CPA / accounting services are for. So the business owner can concentrate on doing what he knows best: running the business. If you can afford it, it always behooves you to hire a trusted professional to handle your books.

  10. CraigCraig10-20-2011

I agree with Ava’a comment on the profit and loss income statement and it’s user friendliness. I am one of those that look at these and just file them away because they are so much of a cluster to read. I understand that hiring a professional CPA to handle the books of your business can be a challenge because they are private information and you have to really trust the company you hire, that is why I think it is always best to hire an individual to work at your company to do you books. I understand the overhead costs, the vacation, and the sick leave aspect of it as well but in the long run the trust issue will make it all worth it.

Two of the key places you should outsource part of your business are accounting and search marketing (pay per click management), especially if numbers aren’t your strong suit. Both areas can save you enough money to more than pay for outsourcing their services. Both areas require a technical expertise that you may not have. You can then focus your time on your area of expertise…running your business.

I truly wanted to construct a simple remark to express gratitude to you for the nice pointers you are showing on this website. My particularly long internet research has finally been paid with pleasant information to exchange with my great friends. I ‘d say that most of us readers actually are unquestionably fortunate to live in a good place with so many outstanding individuals with great concepts. I feel rather lucky to have seen your web site and look forward to really more fabulous times reading here. Thank you again for a lot of things.

  14. RobertRobert11-02-2011

You have some very valid points for outsourcing your accounting and your search engine optimization in your blog but it is very difficult to find a trustworthy CPA to do your accounting with all the news of embezzlement out there how do you know who to trust? I do think I can go as far as outsourcing my search engine optimizing though. I will research the SEO’s in my area and make that decision accordingly, thank you for the advice.

  15. KennethKenneth11-03-2011

Outsourcing your accounting is the best investment you can make as a small business owner or big business it really doesn’t matter which. You should set down and ask questions though, really get to know them and if they don’t try to get to really understand what it is your business does then you probably don’t want to hire that company for your accounting purposes.

  16. BlancaBlanca11-04-2011

As a small business owner take it from me, if you can afford to outsource your accounting it will more than pay for itself in the first year. The relief it takes off of your shoulders as the business owner is worth it’s weight in gold. It frees you up to do the everyday work that makes your business a success and at tax time it is undoubtedly the best investment you could ever make. My only caution to you is make sure it is a reputable firm that you choose and ask them some particular questions to make sure they know what you and they know what they are doing.

  17. Outsourcing techniques is actually an effect our instant connecting and an international economic climate. Firms not having assets or the motivation to acquire thesefacilities are now able to outsource pretty much any task they need to an outsourcing firm nearly anywhere in the world. The effect will be a superbly tweaked, properly maintained crew which achieves assignments as well as techniques in the world at tremendous pace in a daily schedule. The Philippines is usually internationally respected regarding the skill-sets in addition to proficiency of its outsourced workforce. Philippine BPO possesses several benefits whenever compared to other BPO services. The strategic site as well as versatility as well as a huge group of accomplished workforce. Client call companies possesses the largest portion, then finance and accounting, human resource companies. Expertise level of quality along with competence is the primary motive as to the reason why so many multinational providers would rather use outsourcing for their quite a few activities.

  18. DavidDavid11-06-2011

Something I had to learn really quick was how to delegate to the other people in the business. I kept trying to do it all myself and it wasn’t working. I consider outsourcing to be a lot like that it just isn’t with in the business . If I can, I will find someone to work for me in the business so I do not have to go through the trouble of trying to find a company I can trust. Thank you for the information you provided it was excellent. I think anytime you can outsource something even if it is within the company, the better because you don’t have any wasted time.
